Coolmax is crafted from a blend of polyester fibres that are more breathable than their natural equivalents.
Originally developed in the 1980s by DuPont Textiles, this material is now found in all sorts of products, from socks to bedding, and of course, mattress covers.
How Does It Work?
The structure of the Coolmax fibres draws in moisture, pulling it away from the body through grooves in the threads. This moisture is spread evenly across the surface area of the fabric to accelerate evaporation. This is called capillary action, leading to increased evaporation and quicker drying times.
This moisture wicking property prevents heat build-up better than any natural fibre, helping you to regulate your body temperature without using up excess energy.
