Natural latex is made by harvesting the sap of rubber trees, which grow in more tropical climates particularly in Asia and South America. Small cuts are made on the bark of the tree, and the milky sap is then collected and sent for processing. There are two main processes for creating latex foam, the newer of the two being the Talalay process, which contains additional steps, making the final product more buoyant, slightly softer and an overall more luxurious product.
